About Chi Phi

Founded in 1824, the Chi Phi Fraternity is the oldest social fraternity in the United States. It was formed on the basis of three values which remain eternal to its members today: Truth, Honor and Personal Integrity.

At the same time, Chi Phi integrates its own set of values. These include Leadership Development, Community Service, Career Advancement and Lifelong Learning.

Mission Statement

To build better men through lifelong friendships, leadership opportunities, career advantages, and character development.

Engaging in lifelong friendships based upon common values.

Being a gentleman and appreciating our differences.

Interacting in an open and truthful way.

Fulfilling moral expectations as individuals and as a group.

Going above and beyond to achieve desired results.

Building better men, better leaders, and better citizens.

Dedicating ourselves to build and provide a platform of professional advantages to enable career success.

About Eta Delta

Originally founded in 1934 at the University of Southern California, the Chi Phi Fraternity (Eta Delta Chapter) made its return debut in the Fall of 2016 to re-establish its Chapter within the USC Greek Community. At its peak, USC Chi Phi sustained over 100 undergraduate members. Today its base of over 1,000 alumni represents a wide spectrum of key business, government, medical, and engineering affiliations who remain active as Career Mentors, Advisors, and Alumni Association Officers in support of USC Chi Phi’s core values. Their commitment as an alumni mentorship network provides ongoing career opportunities and relationship development by focusing on lifelong career advancement for both our members and alumni.

Spring 2017, Chi Phi partnered with 3Strands Global, an international organization that works to fight human trafficking. Thanks to the combined effort of everyone in Chi Phi and 3Strands, we hosted our inaugural 5K run in April 2017 and raised approximately $3000.

Chi Phi also organized personalized letter writing days for the Orthopedic Institute for Children and the Veterans.
